SEO Packages don’t always work

Many SEO providers opt for SEO packages. It is a simple way to offer SEO services without checking the business’ website or its competition. However, offering the same package at the same price to a hairdresser in Hackney and a divorce solicitor in Birmingham will give inconsistent results. Hackney is a smaller location with only ~280k population, and hairdressers do not have large competition. The SEO package might get them quickly to page one. However, Birmingham is a large city with ~1.1m, and divorce solicitors have hefty competition. The same SEO campaign might get them only to page 5.

Your Marketing Budget is Essential

We always aim to create SEO Campaigns that fit into our client’s budget. There is no point in giving you a quote that you cannot afford. A smaller budget still gets great results, just not for the most competitive search queries/keywords. At the end of the day, nothing is more frustrating than being stuck on page two because the keyword has a stronger competition than the budgeted campaign.
Keeping SEO costs manageable is the best way forward. This does not means going for the cheapest SEO service/campaign but picking an SEO campaign that is focused on bringing results in stages. We encourage companies with a limited SEO budget to start smaller by targeting less competitive keywords that will result in quicker results. Then utilising those results extend the SEO Campaign further.

Ranking takes time

SEO is an investment and takes time. Remember that the competition had built credibility and trust within the search engines over the years. It is not a 1-week job to build up even more authority for a search engine to favour a new website over the websites that were on page one for a long time.

Suppose a website has no page one rankings yet. In that case, it is advisable to start with the keywords with less competition that will build the authority quicker. Those keywords, once ranked, show Google and other Search Engines that a website is worthy of increasing ranking for the more competitive keywords.

Super fast rankings?

A typical timeframe for organic page one results for semi-competitive keywords would be between 4 and 6 months. This timeframe depends on the starting line. A completely new website that was not indexed by Google will take longer than a website ranking for some keywords on page four.

It is possible to rank quicker, within 6 to 8 weeks, for competitive keywords by utilising the Google My business profile. Google My Business listing usually ranks on page one in the Snack Pack well before the website reaches page one in the organic listing.

Getting even quicker results, e.g. within 2 to 6 weeks, is only possible by using keywords that have no competition. The drawback is that those keywords usually have minimal to no people searching those queries. However, it can still benefit the business. For example, a no competition keyword for a law firm specialising in personal injury could be “amputation claim solicitor nottingham”. It will not bring in a lot of business but may get a client or two a year.

In the end, the main factor that determines how long it will take to rank on page one is 1) how much SEO your competition is doing and 2) your available marketing/seo budget.
